Terms of service

The service

Certly is an independent study companion for the Claude certification exams: Certified Associate Foundations, Certified Developer Foundations, Certified Architect Foundations and Certified Architect Professional. It provides practice questions, exam simulations, spaced repetition, prompt-writing exercises and progress tracking.

Independence and trademarks

Certly is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially associated with Anthropic, PBC or any of its subsidiaries. Claude and the certification names are trademarks of Anthropic, PBC, used here only to describe what the app helps you prepare for.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the app. If you are under 18, you need the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Accounts

Creating an account is optional, and the app is fully usable without one. If you do create an account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for everything done under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the app;
• copy, redistribute or republish the question content or any other part of the app;
• use the app for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these terms;
• attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or to another user’s data;
• use scripts or automated tools to interact with the app or to extract its content;
• share your account credentials with anyone else.

Intellectual property

The questions, explanations, exercises, text, interface design and software in the app are owned by Certly and protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify or distribute any of it without prior written consent. Domain names and exam metadata quoted from the official exam guides remain the property of their owner and are reproduced for reference only.

Purchases and advertising

The app is free and shows advertising. A one-time in-app purchase removes advertising permanently. There is no subscription.

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and are subject to Apple’s terms. All sales are final and refund requests must go to Apple. Prices are shown in your local currency and may vary by region, and we may change pricing at any time. A purchase is tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on other devices signed in with that Apple ID.

No guarantee of certification

The app is a study aid. We do not guarantee that using it will result in passing any certification exam. Exam content, format, weighting and passing criteria are set solely by Anthropic and may change without notice. Certly’s questions are written independently and are not real exam items. The projected score is a model based on the published domain weights and passing threshold, not an official result or a prediction of one.

Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error free or free of harmful components.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Certly shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the app, whether based in warranty, contract, tort or any other legal theory.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Certly and its officers, directors, employees and agents from any claims, damages, losses or expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your use of the app or your breach of these terms.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the app at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice. On termination your right to use the app ends immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

Changes to these terms

We may modify these terms at any time. Updated terms will be posted here and inside the app with a new effective date. Continuing to use Certly after a change means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
